UWM nursing grad is passionate about helping patients and refugees

My parents raised me as someone who should
always give back. That was what led me into nursing. Nurses are advocates for patients. We’re the one that sits down at the edge of
the bed, listens to the patients, and really cares for the patient one on one. Along with my passion for giving back and
helping the community, a few years ago we coordinated a day-long food pack event for
Syrian and Somalian refugees. Our goal was to pack 100,000 meals, and we
packed over 150,000 meals to help the Syrian and Somalian refugees. UWM has played a great impact in my future. The UWM faculty also provides students with
the support they need to not only succeed in our time here at UWM, but also succeed
in our future. My plan after college is to work at Aurora
St. Luke’s in the emergency department. It feels great to graduate knowing that I
am able to start my job, my career, right away.
