The Pharmacist’s Role in Older Adult Fall Prevention

Falls are a common and
serious health threat to adults 65 and older. Every year, more than one
in four older adults falls, but over half of those who
fall won’t tell their health care provider. Many of the risk factors
for falls are modifiable, and pharmacists, as members
of the health care team, play a critical role
in fall prevention. “STEADI: The Pharmacists’ Role in Older Adult Fall Prevention”
is a free continuing education opportunity made available
through a partnership between the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention and the American
Pharmacists Association. You can reduce falls to help
older adults remain healthy and independent.
