Stephanie’s Career as a Rehab Director

I’m Stephanie Ruktantichoke. I am the rehab director at Kindred Hospital
Tomball. I’m a speech-language pathologist by background. So a specch therapist at an LTAC is not just talking — I tell patients we deal with thinking, speaking and swallowing. It’s very rewarding — and it’s a great balance
of personal interaction with science for me, which was the best part. Kindred has been a great company to work for. I’ve been with the company for several years
and it has great opportunity to move within the company. I relocated within the company twice, and
have moved up within the company in my tenure and there’s great opportunity for growth and
they have a great emphasis on professional growth. They want to make sure that you are operating
at the top of your license, and that you’re providing the best possible care to your patients. I’m passionate about what I do because you
get to see change and I honestly kind of fell into LTAC not knowing what it was but I love it. We get to see patients for a longer amount
of time and we can see them go from in a bed with minimal function to walking and talking. I love seeing the change and I love getting
to give people back their life.
