What is The Oregon Clinic? The Oregon Clinic is a multi-specialty group–it’s a group of doctors, each of which are specialists in their own individual area. Within The Oregon Clinic, we have a Gastroenterology group, which is comprised of 36 doctors, all of which are specialists in gaastroenterology, and all of which are experts in screening colonoscopy.
You want to come to The Oregon Clinic because when you get your care for a particular disease, you want to be treated by someone who has the most information and the most up-to-date technology and techniques to help give you compassionate, up-to-date, and technologically advanced care. Our message is that we want people to get their screening colonoscopies. If you choose to come to The Oregon Clinic, that’s great. But what’s most important is that you have screening for this important disease. Unfortunately, colon cancer is common. Over 150,000 Americans are diagnosed with colon cancer every year. The rate is about one out of every twenty Americans. So it’s not unusual for you to know somebody or be related to somebody who has been affected by this disease. That’s why we think it is so important that everybody gets screened for colon cancer at the right age. By doing this, we know we can save lives. In fact, by getting your colonoscopy at the right time and by getting your follow-up exams s recommended, we know that we can reduce your risk of getting colon cancer by about 70%. So when it comes to colon cancer screening and colonoscopy, we don’t care where you do it; do it.
