Pasco Co. construction worker airlifted to hospital after saw strikes him in face

WE HAVE BREAKING NEWS AT THIS HOUR IN PASCO COUNTY WHERE A CONSTRUCTION WORKER HAS SUFFERED INJURY WHILE WORKING AT THE SITE ON ALL PASCO ROAD NEAR CYPRESS CREEK HIGH SCHOOL. MELANIE MICHAEL IS THERE NOW AND IT JOINS US LIVE WITH WHAT YOU CAN TELL US AT THIS HOUR. Reporter: GOOD AFTERNOON. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION AT THIS CONSTRUCTION SITE. A PRESS CONFERENCE WRAPPED UP MOMENTS AGO AND HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW. A CONSTRUCTION WORKER SUFFERED VERY SERIOUS INJURIES AFTER BEING STRUCK BY A SAW EARLIER TODAY. PASCO FIRE RESCUE TELLING US A 911 CALL CAME IN AROUND 2:30 PM WHEN CONSTRUCTION CREWS CALL FOR HELP. THE COWORKER WAS INJURED WHEN A DIAMOND TO CONSOLE KICKED BACK AND SLICED THROUGH THE MAN’S CHEST ALL THE WAY TO HIS FACE. HE WAS SENT TO BAYONET FLIGHT. IT WAS DESCRIBED TO ME AS A CHEST CUT IN THE AREA THROUGH HIS NECK AND INTO HIS JAW AREA. THE DEEPEST IN HIS CHEST AREA AND UP. THE PARAMEDICS ON THE SCENE TOLD ME THEY WERE VERY SEVERE INJURY SO WE ARE HOPING FOR THE QUICKEST RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE THIS GENTLEMAN CAN HAVE.
