I think that what people really want is a
primary care doctor that will talk to them, that will discuss their goals with them, that
will help navigate them through the complicated environment of medicine. I think that being able to just discuss things
makes a big difference in helping alleviate people’s fears and anxieties. Knowing a patient — knowing the things that
have happened to them before —helps put things into perspective in terms of where
we go moving forward. I think developing that relationship is fundamental
to tailoring the treatment to the person. Getting people through the challenging parts
and seeing them after, as well as having people reach their health goals, there’s nothing
that makes me happier.
