– If you have a joint issue, go to a center that handles it and then let the physician there sort your problem out and see how your continuum
of care can be delivered. I think it’s a good model. It’s a very successful model. I think it really takes a lot
of pressure off the patient. To navigate, as we know, the field of medicine
has gotten very complex. Any diagnosis that we deal with, there is multiple facets
to that diagnosis. Whether it’s emotional component, whether it’s a nerve-related component, whether it’s a cognitive component. So I think Physiatry in general– so we’re trained in all
these different modalities. The personal gratification I get from the patient getting better, I think that’s truly rewarding. And I don’t think there’s
any other profession that can give you that direct impact.
