Meet Dr. Richard Williamson, MD | Neurological Surgery | Meet Dr. Right

My approach to patient care is really patient
focused. I want them to know that I’m their advocate. I want them to be very comfortable knowing
exactly what their problem is and what the different options are taking care of that
problem. I want them to know that I’m going to give
them all the options and really let them, empower them to make the decision with all
the information that I give them and that doesn’t always include surgery and most times
it actually doesn’t. Most times it involves some other nonsurgical
treatments that we can we can do to help the patients get better. I really am passionate about helping people
and I think that especially when people are sick or have an illness or a new diagnosis
we are all at our most vulnerable at that point and I think that’s when people need
the most help. And so there’s a lot of passion I have for
taking care of those people at the point that life. As a neurological surgeon I treat almost all
structural causes of neurologic disease. Potentially anything that could respond to
some kind of invasive surgery in order to help a neurological problem. And that varies from things like strokes and
trauma to the brain, trauma to the spine, brain tumors, degenerative spine disease,
certain types of epilepsy and vascular malformations in the brain and spine such as arteriovenous
malformations and aneurysms.
