Lee’s Summit church opens free health clinic


HEY’RE PRACTICALLY PRAYING FOR MORE PEOPLE TO COME. >>THIS IS THE CLINIC. IT’S A PERMANENT CLINIC. REPORTER: PASTOR COREY MCDONALD OPENS THE DOORS ON THE THIRD SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH. >>EVERYTHING IN HERE HAS BEEN DONATED. REPORTER: FOR THE LAST THREE MONTHS, NEW SPRINGS COMMUNITY CHURCH HAS BEEN TREATING ANYONE, AND ANYTHING, NOT INVOLVING SURGERY.>>WHOEVER COMES TO OUR CLINIC WILL BE SEEN BY A DOCTOR AND IT’S FREE OF CHARGE. REPORTER: MCDONALD SAYS THE CLINIC IS FULLY INSURED, THEY CAN WRITE PRESCRIPTIONS AND THEY KEEP A TRACK OF PATIENT’S MEDICAL RECORDS JUST LIKE A TYPICAL CLINIC. THE IDEA CAME FROM A CHURCH MEMBER WHO IS A DOCTOR. SEVERAL DOCTORS AND 30 NURSES VOLUNTEER THEIR SERVICE.>>OUR GOAL IS TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE THAT CARE WITHOUT TAKING FOOD OFF THE TABLE, WITHOUT THE STRESS OF HOW I’M GOING TO PAY FOR IT.
