Kawerau’s new health clinic ready to treat whānau

Health Minister Tony Ryall opened Kawerau’s
newest medical centre. It’s a health clinic
operating on the same principles as the one that Dr Lance O’Sullivan
set up in the Far North. Hinerangi Goodman was there. Minister Tony Ryall had the honour of opening up
this new medical centre for the Kawerau community. It’s been 30 years since there was another
medical centre in the town to provide services alongside
the older, more established one. This is a very special day for us. We came to support
one of our mokopuna. Ngati Tuwharetoa ki Kawerau
deserve special acknowledgement, along with the other people
who worked tirelessly for this new centre to be set up to cater to the medical needs
of families. What’s great about
this medical centre is that when people become ill, they’ll be able to come here
and see a doctor without an appointment. It’s a centre
that will be able to provide sorely needed services for everyone. Hinerangi Goodman, Te Karere.
