Healing The Haitian People – 5/13/16

>>Derek Carr: To put yourself in those shoes and have to make that decision, that’s a decision that people shouldn’t have to make? “Well, do I feed ’em or do I get ’em healthy?” You know, people shouldn’t have to make that decision, so it’s awesome that, you know, this can go on so they don’t have to make that decision.>>Julie Burnette Halecki: I don’t know if I can do this. Sweet baby.>>female: Thank you, Jesus, for your peace.>>Debbie Click: This trip has been emotional, I think because I really get what a difference it makes when you stop and you help.>>Eva Saenz: I could never imagine anything like this. Never.>>Sherry Burnette: We are overcome today with another miracle that God has created. [baby crying] [speaking in foreign language]>>Sherry: Well, we’re right here in the mountains of Haiti in a place called La Roche. It’s very noisy right now. People are coming in for mobile clinic and they’re coming in from all parts of Haiti. And we’ve got doctors, nurses. We’ve got helpers. We brought the best of medicine. We’re gonna see every single patient that comes in this clinic and give them the best of care. And we came here with one thing in mind, to bring healing to the Haitian people, by touching them, by loving them, by giving them medical care, by feeding them, whatever way we can. We wanna thank you for allowing us to be your hands and your feet today. Wherever you are, in your living room, your place of business, or wherever you’re watching this program, we want you to know that you are such a part of our hearts. And we know that you would love to be here and you would love to come here if you could, and you can’t, but please, stay there and tarry by the stuff, and pray for us, and pray for these people, and God will let us all work together. Thank you so much. We love you. From the mountains of Haiti, I’m Sherry Burnette.>>Julie: This is what this child eats. When this child is hungry, he doesn’t go to his mom and ask for a box of cereal. He doesn’t go to his mom and ask for a cookie. This child is eating rocks. So, I’ve seen children that eat the mud cookies, but I have yet to see any child eat rocks. And they’re not even ground up, so you can actually feel the rocks on the side of his belly. You can physically feel the rocks in his belly. So, this mother’s gonna go to our clinic and be seen, and hopefully get the help this child needs, because if this child keeps eating rocks, he’s not gonna live.>>male announcer: There aremultitudesof malnourished babiesand starving childrenwho live in Haiti.Babies and children who,if not helped, will join the hundredswho are dying daily.Lack of food, clean water, sanitary conditions, and medical caremean children under the age of 5are at the highest risk.“Love a Child” medical teams arereaching out to these childrenwho have nothingand are giving them hope, hope to survive, hope to live, and hope to have good health.“Love a Child” clinicsprovide assistanceto these impoverished childrenwho have never seen a doctoror received medical care.We need your help now.Fifty dollarssponsors fifty childrento visit the medical clinic, one hundred dollars sponsorsone hundred children, and one thousand dollarsprovides a clinicfor an entire village. You may also providea family with a complete packageof medication for only $20.Will you hear the cryof the poor nowand allow your heartto be touched?Remember, $50 sponsors50 children to visit the clinic,$100 sponsors 100 children, and $1,000 provides a clinicfor an entire village. You may also supplya complete family packof medicationfor these poor families totake home for only $20 a piece. Please call the numberon your screen nowor write today and say,“I want to helpthe hurting children of Haiti.”>>Bobby Burnette: Well, may God bless you here in La Roche, Haiti, which is in the middle of nowhere. No electricity out here, no stores out here. Sherry and the volunteer team from America is out here doing a mobile medical clinic. There’s no doctors, there’s no help out here, there’s no medicines out here, but they came to help them, and of course pray for them, and let others come to Jesus. And I’m sorry I haven’t been here most of the time. I’ve been away. We have two other friends here, David George up in the mountain ranges, two NFL football players from the Raiders, God bless them, Derek Carr, quarterback, and Latavius, who’s a running back. We’ve been with them and David George. And so, showing them around and they’re helping Haiti. But Sherry’s gonna come right now. I’ll just tell you, Sherry, before you come, I see this huge crowd behind me, and this is the last day. Actually, this is the last day. There’s another huge crowd who wasn’t on the list even to come, but they’re still coming, they’re still coming. And God bless you, Sherry, I’ll tell you.>>Sherry: You know, we came to bring the healing power of Jesus to this village. It’s amazing what you can do when you’re scrubbing a head that is just so full of sores, or arms, or legs on little children. They have impetigo. They don’t have anybody to help ’em. You know, a mom that comes and she’s having that childbirth fever, and she says, “Sadly, I didn’t have any money to go to the hospital,” and we’re able to send her right down and send her to the hospital to save her life. A baby that’s just barely hanging on between life and death that we just sent to the hospital to save his life. And so many other cases here, but we came to bring the healing power of Jesus, not only with medicine, with food, we’re feeding these people, but also with the gospel of Jesus Christ. And we want to thank you, our partners. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you so much for helping us to come here to the regions beyond.>>Bobby: And may God bless you. Thank you again. Love is something you do. [speaking in foreign language]>>Sherry: It could be that childbirth fever. [speaking in foreign language] She’s anemic. Very, very anemic. [speaking in foreign language] [speaking in foreign language] Yeah. She needs to get to a hospital where she can be laying down inside. They can give her transfusion IVs. [speaking in foreign language]>>Sherry: She’s been very anemic during her pregnancy. She should’ve been in a hospital, the doctor said, to have the baby, so they could watch her. She’s extremely anemic, and when she had the baby, it was a lot of pressure on her. Her heart is beating very fast and she’s got an irregular beat. Her feet are swollen. She has edema. And she probably has an infection, and they want to get her to the hospital, like, ASAP, and put her on IVs, and give her blood, and watch her, and she has to have rest. So, we had to figure out how to do that, like, right now.>>Julie: It’s just like I can’t get a signal.>>Sherry: No signal?>>Julie: No signal.>>Sherry: All right. Where’s–we’ll get Carlos. Go get Carlos.>>Julie: We’re gonna make you better.>>Sherry: We gotta get her to the hospital, so if we get her to Love a Child, from there, Love a Child will give her some money, send her on to Hospital General. She needs to go with somebody. She’s being put in the machine right now. Actually, isn’t it something? Tuff was the first child we ever sponsored when we came to Haiti, and now he’s working for us. He’s picked up this lady, put her in the machine. They’re gonna take her down to Love a Child, the Jesus Healing Center. [horn honking]>>Tuff: Nixon, do you copy? Nixon?>>radio: Yes.>>Tuff: Yes, I’m pulling into Love a Child now with the patient, so we gotta do this fast, fast. Have everything ready.>>Sherry: From there, they’re gonna transfer him by ambulance, our ambulance. We’re gonna take her to the hospital and she’s gonna be fine. We believe it.>>Tuff: I’m here. I’m here at the clinic.>>Sherry: You know, what’s so sad to me is when I said, “You’re gonna go to the hospital,” she said, “I don’t have any money. I don’t have any money.” And you know, you people back in the states, you’re blessed. We’ve got Obamacare going on, we’ve got insurance going on, and people have it much better than they do here in Haiti. There is nothing here for the poor. There’s no insurance for the poor. There’s nothing. Nothing but you and your help. [music]>>announcer: There aremultitudes of malnourishedbabies and starving childrenwho live in Haiti.Babies and children who,if not helped, will join the hundredswho are dying daily.Lack of food, clean water, sanitary conditions, and medical caremean children under the age of 5are at the highest risk.“Love a Child” medical teamsare reaching outto these childrenwho have nothingand are giving them hope, hope to survive, hope to live, and hope to have good health.“Love a Child” clinicsprovide assistanceto these impoverished childrenwho have never seen a doctoror received medical care.We need your help now.Fifty dollars sponsorsfifty childrento visit the medical clinic, one hundred dollarssponsors one hundred children, and one thousand dollarsprovides a clinicfor an entire village. You may also provide a familywith a complete packageof medication for only $20.Will you hearthe cry of the poor nowand allow your heartto be touched?Remember, $50 sponsors50 children to visit the clinic,$100 sponsors 100 children, and $1,000 provides a clinicfor an entire village. You may also supplya complete family packof medication for thesepoor families to take homefor only $20 a piece. Please call the numberon your screen nowor write today and say,“I want to help the hurtingchildren of Haiti.”>>Bobby: Well, may God bless you. I want to give you a Word from the mission field. You know, love is something you do. And the Bible says God is love. And the Bible says, you know, when men see the goodness of God, it causes man to repent. You know, some people want to preach, preach, preach to people, which is good, the Lord said, “Go preach the gospel to every creature,” but also when you go somewhere and you show the love of God, you show your husband who’s not saved the love of God, or you show a village the love of God, and show them love, and help them with medicine, and help them with the healing power of Christ, and medicine, that also wins people to Christ. But here we are today, out here in front of the church that David George sponsors. God bless you, David. We love you. The church has been full of people. This is the last day, the third day; been full of people. They have seen literally hundreds of people, especially children. And out here, these people are not on their list. They’re not having a dossier been filled out. They’re the overflow. But today, I know Sherry will be giving them family packs to take home to help with the families with medicines. ‘Cause love is something you do. I wanna encourage you today here. You may never come to La Roche, Haiti, or any other places we have medical clinics, or any of our crusades that we go, or any of our building projects, or any of the feeding programs, or our orphan’s home that you and I do together, and all the other many programs, Agricultural Training Center that we do together, but God can use you when you show the love of God. The whole purpose of this little short miniature segment today, the Bible says, “God is love.” And you know, God is in you and I, and when he’s in you and I, the Bible says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” God bless you. Let God use you. Love is something you do.>>Sherry: You know, when Bobby and I first moved to Haiti many years ago, we had large crusades, we preached in churches, and we promoted the gospel all the time. That’s all that we did for a long time. Until one day, in one crusade, a lady held her baby way up above her head, and she screamed something in Creole. What she said to us that day changed our entire ministry. You won’t believe what she said. Read the book, “Love Is Something You Do.”>>announcer: For your free copyof Bobby and Sherry Burnette’snew book,“Love Is Something You Do,”simply give your gift of anyamount and request the book.Call the number on your screen, write to the address,or go to the websiteand give your gift now.Remember,to receive your free copyof Bobby and Sherry’s new book,“Love Is Something You Do,”simply give your gift ofany amount and request the book.>>Latavius Murray: Well, my name is Latavius Murray. I play running back for the Oakland Raiders. And right now, me and my teammate, Derek Carr, are here in Haiti, just–you know, just kinda going around the community. So far, we’ve seen a lot of poverty, a lot of kids in need, kids that have scars on the back of their calves, kids that are hungry, sick. You know, we’re here at the clinic right now, so it’s been rough for me, but been an experience. Obviously, I’ve realized how fortunate I am, you know, to be in the position I’m in, my health, the food on the table every day that I’m able to eat. It’s been an experience. I’m just happy to be here and just, you know, show my support and try to help out any way I can.>>Sherry: Look at this. All that caked on. He would die with that. If we hadn’t come today, he would die with that, but now he’s gonna be okay. And another lady came in with the broken arm. We have nothing to set it. The doctor set it with cardboard to send her to the hospital. A baby came in that was 2 months old. The baby was no bigger than this. Its head was this big around. We just sent that baby down to our clinic at Love a Child to save its life.>>Latavius: Obviously, the Lord lives in us. He’s inside of us every day, every single day we wake up, so we’re able to spread that love and share that love with people all over the world. And obviously, we’re here doing that here in Haiti, showing our love, showing our appreciation, and showing ’em that we care about their well-being. You know, a lot of people say that there’s plenty of scams going on and when you donate you’re not really sure where the money goes to, but I know for sure that Love a Child is doing everything they say they’re doing with their donations and with the money they receive. I’m standing in the middle of it right now, so they’re doing a great job. I love the organization and it’s been a great experience. [speaking in foreign language]>>Sherry: Hey, sorry to interrupt. We just found a lady– the lady with the big, huge breast that you might have seen in one of the last programs. Look at her, how normal she is! [speaking in foreign language] [speaking in foreign language]>>Sherry: She just came from the hospital this morning and she saw Dr.– [speaking in foreign language] [speaking in foreign language] [speaking in foreign language]>>Sherry: Okay, she’s got another appointment. I mean, this is a miracle. I did not think she was gonna live. I didn’t think she was gonna make it to the hospital. It just looked like a huge, cancerized breast. And she’s been–all her–the money that we gave her to go, she’s been going. She’s been going to all her appointments, so today, I’m gonna give her some more money so she can go back and continue with her appointments. But whoever sponsored the last clinic that she was in, you saved her life. I want you to know that you saved her life. Those of you who have given large and small amounts, you helped save her life and the lives of many more. You know, we’re hands and feet, but you guys are the front line and you’re out there. You’re praying and you’re giving so that we can come here. Without you all listening, none of this would ever happen. And from the bottom of all of our hearts, we have no words to say thank you. We are overcome today with another miracle that God has created. And you know, no gift is ever too small, and if we would’ve thought, “Well, that village is too small. We don’t have time,” her life would not have been spared. Thank you. It’s another miracle. [music]>>Elena Saenz: Thank you. Thank you. Bye bye, baby. Thank you, sisters. Thank you, sisters. Thank you. Thank you, sister.>>Elena: I heard about Love a Child through my sister, Eva, who is best friends with Julie, Sherry’s daughter. And she asked me if I wanted to come and be part of a mobile clinic. I have learned about 5 years ago to never say no to God when God opens a door. So, I am now about to turn 50 on Tuesday. This is Eva’s happy birthday to me. ♪ Happy birthday to you ♪♪>>Eva: Hi, my name is Eva Saenz. I’m from Houston, Texas. And I’m here because God called me to be here. It’s heartbreaking to see what you see, but these children are precious, these people are precious. My best friend, Julie Halecki, her parents, Bobby and Sherry, run Love and Child. And in the last year, every time she came back from Haiti, she just came back with a very broken heart, but a very full heart. When she moved to Haiti, my heart came with her, and as soon as she moved to Haiti, I wanted to come. And it was incredible to see Julie just filled, filled with I don’t know what, because I couldn’t visualize what it was like here. But she missed nothing from home, and now that I’m here, I can see everything that fills her heart. I am so proud of her and I’m very happy that her heart is full and that she’s here. She’s doing what she was called to do.>>Julie: So, this mother has had this child by cesarean. The baby was born premature. She’s already had two children by cesarean and lost the first two. And if you can see the look on her face, it’s–it just breaks my heart as a mother. So, in Haiti, you know, the more children that they have, the better the chances they have that somebody will grow up to take care of them. And so, she’s already lost the first two children, so she was probably hoping that this would be her miracle baby. And in the previous interview, she said she doesn’t wanna have any more children. And so, I think that she’s lost– I think that she’s lost hope, and that to me was why I wanted to pray for her and the dad, because they have to have hope.>>announcer: Will you hearthe cry of the poor nowand allow your heartto be touched?Remember,$50 sponsors 50 childrento visit the clinic,$100 sponsors 100 children, and $1,000 provides a clinicfor an entire village. You may also supply a completefamily pack of medicationfor these poor families totake home for only $20 a piece. Please call the numberon your screen nowor write today and say,“I want to helpthe hurting children of Haiti.”>>Derek: If someone has $20, do they take their sick children to the hospital or do they save that and use it for food? You know, and it’s like, you know, to be able to do this for free, to give medicine to a whole entire family, to, you know, check ’em out and make sure that they’re okay, you know, it’s something that they are very grateful for, you know, ’cause it’s a free deal that they can just come, and show up, and just out of God’s love, they can get free medicine, you know? And they don’t have to worry about paying anything or making a decision, “Do I take ’em to the hospital? Do I eat? What do I do?” You know, not only are they getting the medical attention, not only are they getting food, not only are they getting beautiful churches and schools built to where they can be taught, you know, they’re getting, most importantly, a spiritual feeding. You know, they’re learning about Jesus. And for, you know, witch doctors who would have nothing to do with Christ before hand, they’re lifting their hands, praising him. I mean, that is what it’s all about, you know? Reaching the regions and beyond. You know, that’s what it’s about, you know? And, you know, they’re definitely doing it here. [music]>>Bobby: Well, may God bless you. Here it’s the 3rd day and it’s the last day out here in La Roche, Haiti, in the middle of the interior, in the middle of nowhere. No electricity, no doctors out here, no clinics out here, no medicines out here, or anything out here. We’re here in a church that we built probably 2 years ago out here in La Roche is where we have this today, outside under these tents. But Sherry, you and the volunteer team–>>Sherry: They’ve done such an awesome job.>>Bobby: You have done such a good job and they’ve worked so hard and so many hours. Before Sherry comes, you can help. And she will explain it to you more, but for a gift of $50, you can supply 50 children, 50 people, $1 a person, to come to the clinic, to be sponsored to come through here and receive help and save lives. Or for a gift of $100, you can supply 100 people, 100 children, to come through here and receive help and save lives, where they have no doctor, no medicine. Can you imagine how you can make a difference? Or $1,000 will sponsor an entire 3-day clinic. All the medicines, all the expense, put it together, $1,000. And I’m praying that some of you will. I just wanna say one more thing. As you give on this program, you may wanna give $20 extra for a family pack that supplies all types of medicines for families. It’s a wonderful gift of love. I’ll let Sherry explain that more to you.>>Sherry: You know, the family packs are something that I really believe God gave me. We noticed that if we had 400 or 500 people the first day, the 2nd day we would have 500 more, and the first 500, they would go tell 500 more, so we’d have 1,000 on the 2nd day. Then on the third day, we would have more than we had on the first two days. We could never finish seeing all the people at all, ever, ever. And so, I said, “How can we really serve these people when we can’t see all the people?” And the Lord just laid it on my heart to make up a family pack of medicine. Now, this is what we can give the moms on the very last day. When we go to the top of the mountains that are so high, and they’ve gotta walk back their kids, they don’t have to leave empty-handed. And inside is basic medicines, nothing to hurt anybody. It’s fever and cold for adults and children, cough medicine, bandages, vitamins. So, you can sponsor a family pack for a whole family for a gift of $20. And maybe you say, “Bobby and Sherry, I wanna sponsor 50 kids to go to the clinic, but I also wanna sponsor a family pack.” You can do that too. Or you can say– maybe you can say, “I’ve only got $10 today.” God bless you. Send your $10 in. Any gift at all is going to help us run this medical clinic. We sent a little tiny baby, 2 months old, that looks like he was 2 weeks old, severely malnourished, 5 weeks early, the baby is next to death. We sent the baby to a special baby hospital today. Suppose that we had not been here. Listen, you can save lives. God wants to use you. And as Bobby says in his ministry segment a lot of times, do not pass by on the other side. You cannot turn this program off. You cannot do it without seeing these people and saying, “I’ve got to help.” The toll-free number is on the screen, or you can go to the Internet, or you can make a phone call, but do something today.>>Bobby: Let God use you. If everyone who helps by giving online, or giving in the mail, or calling the telephone number toll-free to help speed the process up. So, please give, whether it’s $50 sponsor 50 children, 50 people to come to the clinic, or $100, which is $1 a person, will sponsor 100 people to come to the clinic, or $1,000, we’re praying, will sponsor a whole entire clinic. If God has blessed your business and God has blessed you and your family, let God use you. Or $20 or more for a family pack of medicine the Haitians could never, never afford to purchase out here. They don’t have the money nowhere.>>Sherry: Thank you.>>Bobby: Let God use you. We love you. God bless you.>>Sherry: Thank you.>>Bobby: Go make a difference. [music]
