the fastest growing areas in the state. With easy access to two interstates it’s
only 30 minutes from Gainesville and an hour from Atlanta. NGMC Braselton opened
in 2015 and it brought services modeled around the programs of excellence from
NGMC Gainesville closer to home for people in southern Hall County. The
hospital now offers Interventional and Diagnostic Heart Services,
Vascular Care, Orthopedics, Neurosciences, Cancer Treatment, Robotic Surgery,
emergency Services, Labor and Delivery Services, Neonatal Intensive Care and
more. General Surgery residents will gain experience training in a variety of
areas throughout NGMC Braselton including in the emergency room, at the
patient bedside, on medical and surgical floors, in the outpatient or ambulatory
clinic, inside operating rooms, and in endoscopy and interventional radiology
areas. They may also access the laboratory or radiology to further
evaluate a patient’s condition. General Surgery residents will be immersed in
the critical care setting so they’re prepared if there’s a need for surgical
patients to be cared for by the ICU. Most importantly, General Surgery residents
will have hands-on experience learning with our robotic system as well as
laparoscopic and open surgical techniques. This cross-training allows
them to have a broad educational experience and help development into a
knowledgeable and capable practicing surgeon upon completion of their 5 year
program. NGMC Brazelton was designed with LEAN principles in mind which means
its floor plan and technological enhancements allow for smarter workflows
for physicians nurses and staff and more efficient communication between multiple
locations. It was also built not just to improve the health of the community but
also of the environment. In fact, NGMC Braselton was the first Hospital in
Georgia to be certified as a Gold Rated Healthcare facility by Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design also known as LEAD, thanks to sustainable
practices and efficient energy use. The hospital’s
cafeteria, Cafe 1,400, uses fresh local ingredients to make made from scratch
meals and features a stone pizza oven, salad bar, deli selections, grilled
burgers, sandwiches, coffee barista, and daily specials. During break times all
residents can enjoy the comforts of the physician lounge, sleep rooms, and break
rooms with wonderful views of the nearby landscape. Northeast Georgia Medical
Center Braselton will offer residents the opportunity to train in one of the
newest hospitals in Georgia in the state’s most awarded health system.
