Emergency Cardiac Care at Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami, FL

– I’m a true miracle. On February 6th my heart stopped twice. I was saved by the great
care of first responders and doctors at Kendall Regional
Medical Center’s Heart and Vascular Institute. That night I went to bed,
and my husband noticed that I was gasping for air. What we didn’t know was
that I was going through cardiac arrest. My family reacted immediately,
and police and paramedics arrived within minutes, at
which point I was already clinically dead. The paramedics were able
to revive me temporarily and immediately took
me to Kendall Regional, where I again had to be revived. The team at Kendall Regional
used a state-of-the-art cooling technology, that it
ultimately saved my life. When I woke up in ICU the next day, I was so grateful to be alive. Most people who suffer from
cardiac arrest don’t get a second chance at life. When you’re in that situation
it can be very emotional and very scary. With the doctors and staff at
Kendall Regional it’s about so much more than just the
equipment and medicine. They truly made me feel like
I was on the road to recovery. I’m eternally thankful for the
immediate medical attention and personal care I received at Kendall. They took me and my family
in as part of their own. I’m so happy that I am
able to appreciate all the moments that I have with my
husband and my three children. We’re so close that I can’t
imagine not being there for all of their special moments in life, graduations, weddings and grandkids. Almost losing all of this
makes you rethink everything. If for any reason I had
to be hospitalized again, Kendall Regional would without
question be my first choice.
