Elizabeth McGee MD, Division Chief, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility – UVM Medical Center

(moderate jazz music) – Hello. I’m Elizabeth McGee. I’m the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology
and Infertility. (moderate jazz music) I see myself predominantly as an educator. An educator to the students, but also an educator to my own patients. I think when patients come in, they have a stated problem, and I think helping them see, you know. what are the
details of the problem they want to solve, and what’s involved with that. And then educating them
about what their options for treatment are. You know, what are the good and bad things about each option for treatment. So, they’re really then, empowered, educated to make their own
choices about their care. (moderate jazz music) Helping people with infertility problems and to build families is very rewarding, but also helping people
transition through menopause, or other hormonal issues
of puberty earlier in life. There’s so many different things that reproductive endocrinology
and infertility touch that blends the complexity
and the beauty of science with being able to help
people at critical times in their life. Being able to figure
out what the problem is and help them move forward. (moderate jazz music)
