Dr. Aarti Mathur | Endocrine Surgeon

Hi, my name is Aarti Mathur. As an endocrine surgeon, I care
for patients with thyroid, parathyroid, and
adrenal disease. I became interested in endocrine surgery when I
have the unique opportunity to spend several years at
the National Cancer Institute. This really allowed
me to understand and appreciate the comprehensive,
multidisciplinary, and personalized care that every
person who needs endocrine surgery really deserves. Each person poses
a unique challenge, and it is incredibly gratifying
when a successful operation really can improve
someone’s quality of life. My philosophy on patient
care involves using a multidisciplinary approach
to personalized care and really tailor treatment to
each individual’s unique needs while striving for
the best outcome. My clinical interests are
thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, hyperparathyroidism and
adrenal nodules. My research focuses on improving
outcomes after endocrine surgery, especially
after thyroidectomy and improving the quality of
the care that we deliver. I currently see patients at
Johns Hopkins Hospital and in Washington DC at the Sibley
Medical Office Building. It has truly been an honor and
privilege to have trained and now work at Johns Hopkins,
and it would be an honor and privilege to be
involved in your care. [MUSIC]

  1. Great Surgeon. No drama, thorough and informative of options and alternatives. Dr. Mathur has a natural ability to put one at ease, allay fears, and include the patient in the decision-making. I highly recommend her without any hesitation! (PS –I had my thyroid removed after years of medication, yet goiter continued to grow causing swallowing difficulty).
