Doctor Raided By FBI, DEA Accused Of Overprescribing Opiates


THE MAJOR CHARGES FILED AGAINST HIM FOR THE TRAFFIC STOP WERE LATER DROPPED. WE NOW KNOW WHY THE DEA AND THE FBI RAIDED THE BUSINESS OF THE HOME OF A NORTH HILLS DOCTOR. THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT HAS BEEN UNSEALED AND BRENDA WATERS HAS READ IT. THIS NOW DATES BACK TO 2014. Reporter: HERE IS THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT. THE DOCTOR IS THE FOUNDER OF MEDICAL FRONTIERS ANY BOARD- CERTIFIED ANESTHESIOLOGIST, PAIN MANAGEMENT AND CRITICAL CARE SPECIALIST. BACK IN NOVEMBER, 2014, A CONTROVERSIAL — A CONFIDENTIAL SOURCE NAMED HIM AS A PHYSICIAN KNOWN TO RIDE A LARGE NUMBER OF OXYCODONE PRESCRIPTIONS. YESTERDAY HIS BUSINESS, MEDICAL FRONTIERS WAS RAIDED BY FBI AND DEA AGENTS. HIS HOME IN HAMPTON WAS ALSO RATED AND BOXES OF EVIDENCE CARTED AWAY. OF FOUR YEARS AGENTS HAVE INTERVIEWED PATIENTS AND FORMER EMPLOYEES WHO SAY PATIENTS WOULD PAY $250 PER VISIT, ALWAYS CASH AND THAT THEY WERE REQUIRED TO FILL THEIR PRESCRIPTIONS AT THE MEDICINE SHOPPE PHARMACY IN OAKMONT THE COMPLAINT SAYS HE KEPT HIS PATIENTS RETURNING FOR THE MONTHLY VISITS BY GETTING THEM ADDICTED TO THE OPIATES HE PRESCRIBED. AND OFFICE MEMBER SAYS SHE OBSERVED PATIENTS QUOTE, HIGH AND FALLING OVER WHEN THEY CAME FOR THEIR VISITS. ANOTHER SAID PATIENTS WERE SO HIGH IN THE OFFICE THEY COULDN’T CARRY ON A CONVERSATION.
