wait for this car… …and, we’re golden. Becca Van Drimmelen: Hi, my
name is Becca Van Drimmelen. I’m a senior at Oregon State studying Human Development
and Family Sciences with an option in Human Services. I am also the president
of the student group, Active Minds, here on campus. Counseling and Psychological
Services at Oregon State is staffed with professionals with particular interests and expertise in the concerns of
students and mental health. These include licensed
Clinical Social Workers, Psychologists, and Master’s
Students in Counseling and Education. Counseling and Psychological Services offers a variety of services
and resources to students. These include a variety of
support and interpersonal groups such as Grief and Loss Groups
or Understanding Self-Groups. CAPS also is involved with OSU’s
Sexual Assault Support Services and OSU’s Suicide
Risk Reduction Program, and they also house Active Minds which is the only student
lead group on campus that is devoted to reducing the stigma around mental health issues. Welcome to the Mind Spa
at Oregon State University. Here you can find a variety
of services such as meditation, a message chair, and
the biofeedback machine. These are all free for
students to check out. You can come up here for
a half hour time period, and just do anything
from relax to study. CAPS offers individual,
couples, and group counseling. To make your first appointment, you need to call the office
after 8:30 in the morning. Appointments are made
on the same day basis for first appointments, and the number you need
to call is 541-737-2131, and appointments for OSU students are at no additional cost to you. Counseling and Psychological Services is located on the 5th floor of
Snell Hall or 500 Snell Hall. The Counseling and
Psychological Services office is open from 8:00 a. m. to 5:00
