Certified Stroke Rehab Program | Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital

Hi, I’m Amy Hansen, Director of Therapy Operations here at Northern Colorado Rehab Hospital and Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital. We have been certified since 2013 for stroke
rehab by the Joint Commission, providing evidence-based care and
providing excellent patient outcomes. Many of our therapists are Neuro-IFRAH trained, and we even have three Neuro-IFRAH
clinical instructors onsite. Neuro-IFRAH provides a facilitation technique to improve movement patterns to return patients to prior level of function. One aspect of our services that I’d really
like to highlight is our outpatient clinic. We have a speech therapist, we have an occupational therapist that is a clinical instructor for Neuro-IFRAH, and two physical therapists,
one of which is a neurologic specialist. And on our inpatient rehab side, we have four
certified rehabilitation registered nurses, further demonstrating our dedication to providing
the highest quality of care to our community. Our program provides patient and family education
for secondary stroke prevention, caregiver training, home evaluations,
community reintegration. We also have a stroke support group,
which is the third Tuesday of every month. We also have an aphasia support group, which
is the first Thursday of every month. Please contact us at (970) 619-3400 for further details. The Joint Commission Certificate of Distinction
is important to us, as we strive to provide Northern Colorado with the highest quality of care to our stroke community.
