Cannabis Doctors Australia Patient Journey Video

The CDA patient journey begins when a
patient or carer registers on our website. Soon after registering, you’ll
receive a welcome pack, which includes some important information that you must read. A helpful patient care manager will call and discuss the process of accessing medical cannabis and provide a free eligibility screening to see if
it’s right for your medical condition. In order for a CDA doctor to consult with
you, you’ll need to send three key documents. 1. A referral letter from your
regular doctor or specialist. 2. A health summary or medical history from your
regular doctor. 3. A CDA consent form signed by you. Certain conditions may require
further information. Once we’ve received these documents you can book in for a medical cannabis consultation. Whether done in our clinics or via Telehealth, the consult will take approximately 30 minutes. During the consult the medical
team will review your medical history and previous treatments and help you
select safe and affordable medical cannabis products to treat your symptoms. The doctor will also discuss a personalized management plan including
setting clear treatment goals, evaluating the benefits and monitoring for
potential side-effects. After the consultation you’ll receive an invoice via email. Once this is paid, your application will be sent to the Department of Health for approval. When your application is approved the doctor will write the prescription and send it to the pharmacy. The dispensing pharmacy
will call you when your order is ready and take payment for your prescription. The average time for approval and dispensing is 10 business days. Please visit our website for more information.
