Building a next-generation hospital

Hi, I’m Jon Crucitt with Sharp HealthCare’s
Facilities Management and Development team. We’re currently standing it what will be a
private, patient room in Sharp Chula Vista’s new hospital tower. Set to open in the fall of 2019, the new hospital
tower will consist of 138 large, private rooms, including 10 intensive-care suites. And here’s what they’ll look like! I’m currently standing in what we’re calling
a “mock-up patient room”. We use this to review room designs and ensure
our project is working as efficiently as possible. These are almost exact replicas of what the patient rooms will be. Each private, patient room is designed to
accommodate families and visitors, promote healing, and enhance patient safety. Plus, all bathroom equipment and counter space
will have features to improve infection control. This includes coating surfaces with an anti-microbial
finish, which is above the normal standard. So pretty soon, this room will look like this! Sharp Chula Vista has been providing health
care to the South Bay for more than 40 years. This new hospital will provide clinical excellence
and thoughtful consideration so we can continue to provide the best level of care in the community
we’re so privileged to serve. Thank you for watching.
