4 Wilmington Officers Taken To Hospital After Fentanyl Scare

WHILE WILMINGTON POLICE AND FIREFIGHTERS ARE TYPICALLY RUSHING FROM THEIR PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING, RESPONDING TO EMERGENCY SCENES, THURSDAY THE HAZMAT TEAM WAS SITTING UP TO ENTER THEIR OWN DEPARTMENT. THIS HAPPENED AFTER POLICE RETURNED WITH AN ARREST, 31- YEAR-OLD JOHN MOSES OF READING. A SEARCH CONDUCTED, DURING THE SEARCH, THE OFFICERS ENCOUNTERED AN OPEN PLASTIC BAG WHICH HAD SOME SORT OF RESIDUE IN IT, THAT WENT AIRBORNE. Reporter: THOSE ARRESTING OFFICERS SUDDENLY FELT SICK. THEY BECAME SWEATY AND FELT AS IF THEIR HEARTS WERE RACING. IT WAS CONFIRMED TO BE FENTANYL. WHICH OBVIOUSLY IS A PROBLEM THAT WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH QUITE FREQUENTLY.
