šŸ¶Hospital Visitor | FIRST SOLOšŸŽµ

– [Dad] You have a solo tonight. – My very first solo. (cheerful music) – So I just talked to the
doctor again and we have a plan! (cheerful music) Well Jenae did better than
I expected last night. She still had a rough night, but I guess I had low expectations. So they brought in a
play mat and some toys for Jenae and she’s so happy! Did they bring you some fun toys? – Yes! – Is that the baby? Yeah? – Shhh shhh – Oh, we gotta be quiet. Shhh, shhhh, shhh. Shhhh, shhh, shhh. Aw so sweet. Oh is the baby going potty? Yeah, take the baby-oh! The baby is going potty! Wow! Good job, Nae-Nae! Aw the baby is going to sleep now. Aw. Well Jenae is really happy. She’s in a good mood this morning, which I’m really grateful for. Jenae is frustrated because this bottle is attached to the mother and she
wants to give it to the baby. Num num num num. – Mommy, bye bye. – Yeah, that’s a good point. – Mommy, bye bye. – Does she need a drink? – Thank you. – You’re welcome. There’s a bottle for the baby. Aw good job feeding the baby. Oh! Now it’s for Nae-Nae. (child jabbers) – Well I’m here in the car line, getting ready to pick up the kids. (upbeat music) Hello! – Hi Dad! – Hi Dad! – How was school? – It was good. – I can’t wait for the play tonight! – Yep, you’re performance is tonight. – So Jenae got a feeding tube last night. Obviously when it was placed,
she was not happy with that. She was screaming
afterwards, she was gagging and trying to pull it out. But overnight they hooked
her up to a feeding and she was able to sleep, I
was really worried about that. This morning she is happy
and she’s not pulling at the feeding tube as much. So that makes me really hopeful that she’ll get kinda used to it
and forget that it’s there. We have a busy day today. We’re seeing the occupational
therapist, we are seeing a nutritionist, we’re seeing
the hospital pediatrician, and we’re also hoping
to see the therapy dog. It has a picture of Hope on it! (child mumbles) Yes at the doggy! Aw, is that so funny? (child babbles) – So the girls just got new dresses that they’re wearing
tonight for the concert. I love it! It’s so cute. (happy orchestral music) – Do you like the fashion show? – Beautiful. – All you need is the boys. – So Caleb what are you doing tonight for the Christmas performance? – Um, I’m singing three songs. One is with Isaac and Elyse. – You have a solo tonight. – My very first solo. – I’m excited. And Isaac does like a reading part, right? (soft piano music) – Hey guys, Jenae is
napping right now. So sweet. I just wanted to take a
second to tell you guys, thank you so much for your
thoughts and your prayers, and your support and your kind messages. It’s really meant so much to us right now. I want you to know also
that we have a lot of hope. This is gonna be okay. It’s stressful and makes me feel nervous. I’m emotional about it sometimes. It’s a little bit scary to me. It’s unknown. I don’t like unknown things. I like things that I can control. This is not one of them. But I still feel a lot of peace. There’s a lot of happiness
in our hospital room. Jenae is playing, she’s cheerful. She’s going to learn how to eat and grow, and we’re gonna get
through this, and it is going to be okay. (cheerful piano music) ♪ What did the cow at the manger say ♪ ♪ to baby Jesus in the hay ♪ ♪ Moo, moo, moo, moo ♪ ♪ Oh! Jingle bells, jingle

She’s really getting in to it. So I just talked to the doctor
again and we have a plan! And I’m really excited
because I like things to be written down and organized
on a piece of paper. We have a meal schedule
for her, and the amounts, and the calories in each thing. And feeding tube feedings
that go along with that, and I feel a little bit more
clarity on what the plan is. And hope that this can really work and she’ll start gaining weight. Color the dinosaur. Here I’ll color the trees up here. Jenae’s favorite word right now is yellow. And we can’t quite figure
out if she’s trying to say all the colors are yellow or if something about coloring is yellow. But she says it. All the time. We can’t quite figure it out. You gonna lay down? – Uh-huh. – Okay. You’re gonna lay down? Are you trying to switch me spots? – Uh-huh. – Okay. Alright, there we go. – Yellow. – There we go. – Yellow. – Yep, there we go. – Yellow. – I like coloring with you. – Yes! – Yes. – Yellow! – I should use yellow,
this is a sunflower. Hey Jenae, did you see a doggy today? – Yes. – You did? What was the doggy’s name? – Yellow! (Mom laughs) – The doggy’s name was Hope! (children singing) (audience applause) ♪ The cattle are lowing,

her first course has watermelon, carrots,
strawberries, and bananas. Yum! I love watching you
eat, good job big girl! Poll question: if those were
the four foods offered to you, which one would you choose to eat? I would go for… It’s a toss-up for me between
strawberries and watermelon. Man, when watermelon is
good, it’s really good. Jenae clearly went with watermelon. So Jenae has a feeding tube, and that is to supplement her regular feedings. We are supposed to be sitting her down five times a day in her high
chair and offering her at least five different kinds of food. Based on how much of that she
eats, we know how much food to put through her feeding tube. I know this can be super
confusing, because you’re seeing Jenae eat, and she has a feeding tube. So you can totally eat when
you have a feeding tube, if your doctor says it’s okay. And it’s great for Jenae. So we are supposed to offer
her meals just like usual. What we use the feeding
tube for, is to make sure that she’s getting enough calories. So we’re using Pediasure, or things that are similar to that. Put down her feeding tube
after the meals to make sure she’s getting fully
full and getting enough calories in her day. – So how did you feel about doing a solo in front of over 800 people? – When I saw you I thought,
I think I’m just gonna basically think I’m singing to you in our living room, in front of a camera. – So you were just singing to the blog? – Yeah that’s what I thought. – Well, it was amazing you did great! – Thanks. – You guys were singing

do you like performing? – Yes! – Yes, it’s one of my favorite things now that I have more confidence. – Art. That’s your art. – Mm-hmm! – Is this yours Caleb? Looks good. – Somebody’s face lit up
when she saw her daddy. – Yellow pants, red pants, green pants. (baby laughs) (Dad laughs) – New coat. Oops. – Well this is precious time with Jenae. The kids at home have
really been missing her and praying for her, and worried for her. I’ve been missing her all day. – [Little Girl] Goodnight to yourself. – [Mom] What could
possibly be a better idea than jumping with tongs
to try to catch a balloon? (upbeat music) She’s taking selfies!
